Stay Open LateDrawing set B: the search engine room

SHEET 01 Elevation: the front door

Websites that keep your business open after you lock up.

We build a fast, distinctive website for your local business, then set up and tune your search listings on Google, Apple, Bing and the main directories. The point: when someone nearby searches for what you sell, you're there, with the right hours. Then we keep it all running.

An illustration: a terminal types the search "barber near me". The search engine shows a handful of nearby shops on a map and a short list. A shop that wasn't listed gets its listing claimed, its hours corrected, real photos added and a fast website, and it climbs from nowhere onto the map.
Illustration, not a real search. Nobody honest can promise you a position; what we can do is set up everything the search engines look at.

SHEET 02 Isometric: general arrangement

What we build, and what we keep running

Think of the internet as one huge machine that decides which shops a nearby searcher gets to see. We build your parts of it, connect them properly, and keep them oiled.

Blueprint drawing of the search engine roomAn isometric machine. Searches drop into a hopper, an engine with gears sorts them, a conveyor carries listings to a map board, and a return pipe loops back to keep it all running. 1. The website

Fast, distinctive, and built for a phone first. Your services, hours and phone number are real text that search engines can read, with a tap-to-call button where thumbs expect it.

  2. The listings

We set up and claim your Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and the main directories, so you exist on the maps people actually use.

  3. The tuning

Same name, address, phone and hours everywhere. The right categories. Real photos. Services written the way people search for them.

  4. The upkeep

Holiday hours, new photos, a new service, a directory that got something wrong. We keep the whole machine running, so you don't have to think about it.

SHEET 03 Section A–A: the route a search takes

Why being found matters more than being good

When someone nearby types barber near me or mobile welder, the search engine doesn't show them every shop in town.

It shows a handful, on a map and in a short list. People choose from those. Being in that handful with correct hours, real photos and a website that opens fast on a phone is how a shop gets picked.

Being missing, or listed with last year's hours, sends the customer straight to somebody else. They never knew you were there.

Local results come down mainly to three things: relevance, distance and prominence. You can't move your shop closer, but you can make sure the engine knows exactly what you do and that your details are right everywhere.

The route a search takesA search goes into the engine, which picks a handful of nearby shops for the map and list. A shop that's listed correctly can be picked. A shop that's missing, or has wrong hours, loses the customer to a competitor.SEARCH"barber near me"THE ENGINErelevance · distance · prominenceTHE HANDFULa few shops, on a map + a listLISTED RIGHTcan be picked:call · visit · bookMISSINGnever seenWRONGHOURSboth: the customer goes elsewhere
FIG. 3B "Near me" is a dome over your street. Inside it, the search engine picks from the shops it knows about and trusts. The job is to make sure it knows about yours.

SHEET 04 Schedule of changes

What optimised listings are designed to do for you

The board shows the before and after of the work, not a promise of results. Nobody controls the search engines; we make sure nothing on your side is holding you back.

  • Found for "near me" and "open now" searches

Built so you show up when someone close by searches for what you sell, including at the moment they want it open.

  • Correct hours and directions everywhere

Google, Apple Maps, Bing and the directories all say the same thing, so nobody drives to a locked door.

  • More calls, bookings and visits from search

Designed to turn a search into a call, a booking or a visit, with directions one tap away.

  • A site that turns visitors into customers

Loads quickly on a phone and makes the next step obvious, which is what it's built to do.

Three demo businesses we made up to show the difference. Each has its horrible old website and the new one built for search. They're fictional, so you can poke around freely.
